Champion 4500 Generator Review – Noise and Runtime Test
In this article, we have given a detailed review of the Champion 4500 Generator based on load and noise, efficiency, portability, durability, and power. Our team has conducted 30 tests to get accurate data on each parameter.
Champion 4500-watt inverter generator is very close to my heart because of its quiet, safe, and uninterrupted running.
Because of this machine, I have spent lots of long winter nights comfortably.
Well after spending 5 days I have done runtime, load, noise, and other important tests of this machine to provide a clear image to our audience.
Without further wasting time let’s dive in;
Unboxing Experience:
I got my package within the right time with perfectly padded packaging; I didn’t find any cracks on the frame. After opening the box I got Engine Oil, some tool kits, USB Adapter Oil Funnel, remote control, the user’s manual, and a quick start guide.
Design and Build Quality:
The Champion 4500-watt inverter generator is the prettiest machine I have ever seen in my life; it is a perfect blend of vibrant yellow and mat black.
The front of the generator has a decent foldable carrying handle, a control panel, and a small battery compartment below the control panel. The back contains a spark arrester and a bunch of vents as well.
On the right side, you will have a yellow removable panel that can be removed easily to do the necessary maintenance like cleaning the air filter, changing the spark plug, etc., however on the left side, you will have a pull starter and a small compartment, to check out the engine oil and drain the overflowed fuel.
When it comes to portability this guy has a wheel kit and a foldable handle with a compact size for transporting it like a briefcase.
Fuel Tank Size, Fuel Options, and Runtime Test:
The manufacturers have stated that at 25% load this inverter generator can provide 14 hours of runtime with a single fuel tank of 2.3 gallons.
As per my experiment, I got 13 hours of run time on a 30% load which is pretty decent. I must say the manufacturers are right about the fuel efficiency of this unit. Though this machine doesn’t have a dual fuel option, still you can spend long winter nights comfortably.
Load Test of Champion 4500 Generator:
Champion 4500-watts inverter generator has a powerful 4-stroke engine of 212cc that can provide 4500 surges and 3500 running watts. Also, it has <3 THD (total harmonic distortions), which means you will get steady fluctuations free power.

Noise Test of Champion 4500 Generator:
At low idle(almost zero loads) on eco mode, I got 58 – 59dB from 23 ft. away, however, on normal mode, I got 61 – 63dB.
After adding 25% load, I got 62 – 64dB on average from 23 ft. away. This is a super silent model, literally, you will never find it roar even if you have placed it 30ft. Away from your RV or home.
Ports, Outlets, and Essentials (Control Panels):
Note: All ports are weatherproof, you don’t have to care about moisture, bugs, snow, etc.
Parallel Support:
Yes, this beast can be paralleled with another similar or similar brand unit depending on the manufacturer’s statements. The bottom line is you can increase the capacity of this unit by combining another one.
Wireless Remote Startup:
Champion offers remote start from 80 ft. away which is true. I operated it at least 4 times from 80 ft. away.
Maintenance and Usage:
After removing the shipping support from the bottom, I connected the battery plugs, put the battery switch to ON, rotated the dial to the green icon, press the choke button and fire up the generator by pressing the yellow button on the EZ dial.
Run it for a few seconds and press the choke button. That’s it. Your machine is on eco mode by default. You have to press the eco mode button to put it on normal mode.
You can also use the remote control as well. Overall the generator is pretty easy to set up. You can operate it within a few minutes after setting it up.
